Kudos
Thursday, June 5, 2008

To Ozaukee Press:
Thank you to the more than 500 run, walk and rollers, who gathered at the future site of Possibility Playground in Port Washington’s Upper Lake Park Saturday,
May 31, to raise more than $14,000 for Ozaukee County’s first universally accessible playground for children of all abilities.

Special thanks to the 25 pledge-getters, who raised more than $4,500, proving that a few people can make a huge difference. It’s not too late to turn in pledge money. It really adds up!

Thanks to the sponsors and generous organizations and businesses that provided in-kind donations. Because of them, 100% of all pledge and registration money will go to the playground!

A special thank you to the people who volunteered at the event: Possibility Playground supporters, employees from Port Publications, Kohl’s A-Team and Starbucks, members of the Port Washington/Saukville Jaycees and Port Washington Kiwanis Club, and the Linda Buser family, who helped with the Children’s Carnival.

Thank you to the City of Port Washington, Mayor Scott Huebner, Port Washington police and fire departments and the Port Washington Park and Recreation Department for helping to make the event run smoothly.

The Possibility Playround Run,
Walk & Roll Committee:
Liz Bannon, Stacey Berg, Carrie Ehrlich, Carol Lemke, Mardy McGarry, Sue Mayer, Melissa Niemeyer, Ed Pankow, Stacy Peters, and Greta Schanen

Doing their part to support Possibility Playground, Karen and Jim Vollmar of Port Washington placed the winning bid for a signed Brett Favre jersey (upper middle photo) during the Snowflake Dance to benefit the playground Saturday at Memories Ballroom in the Town of Port Washington. Carrie Anshutz of Egg Harbor (left in lower middle photo) outbid her sister Kristi Belzer of Port Washington (right) for a commemorative football bearing the signatures of Green Bay Packers. Charlie Pfrang (above) served as auctioneer. About 360 people attended the dance and auction, which was hosted by WKTI 94.5 FM radio morning personality Mathew Blades, (top photo with Phoenix Dasbach). The Event raised more than $12,000 for what will be Ozaukee County’s first universally accessible playground in Port’s Upper Lake Park. Photos by Bill Schanen IV

Kudos to Snow Flake Dance and Auction, Attendees, Volunteers and Donors

Possibility Playground of Ozaukee County would like to thank everyone who attended our Snowflake Dance and Auction at Memories Ballroom on Saturday, Jan 19. It may have been freezing outside, but the crowd was warm and generous inside, raising $12,000 to benefit the playground.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated auction items, the Ozaukee Press for advertising the event, the fantastic volunteers who helped get items, sell tickets and work at the event and everyone who donated time to make the event a success. We would like to extend a special thank you to our MC, Mathew Blades (WKTI), auctioneer Charlie Pfrang, DJ Dan Bichler and balloon artist Laura Manoni for using their talents to keep everyone entertained through out the evening.
We are steadily climbing toward our goal of raising $450,000 to build a universally accessible playground for children of all abilities in September 2008. To date we have raised over $140,000—almost a third of the way there. We thank everyone for their continued support of this valuable community project.
